Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes (CSAH)

Veterans Donny Daughenbaugh (VP, Field Operations) and Mary Herrera (Regional Representative – West) share the backstory of the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes and their key programs. Donny became involved early in the organization; founded when key needs were unmet by the huge surge of severely injured which overwhelmed the medical and family support systems. Because the organization was founded with the input of those they serve, the Coalition has a loyal following and grassroots donors.

Vital programs include “never give up” advocacy, emergency financial assistance with fast turnaround times, the biannual Road to Recovery Conference bringing vets and their families together for 4-5 days, and Heroes Thanking Heroes. Connecting severely injured vets and their families with others affirms they are not alone, and with the prevalence of visible and invisible injuries, family members and children greatly benefit.
